Sebastian Schmitz

Sebastian Schmitz is a student at UNC Chapel Hill pursuing a double major in Economics and Peace, War, and Defense, with a minor in Marine Science. Hailing from Rowayton, Connecticut, Sebastian is passionate about the intersection of environmental and social sustainability. At X-Caliber, he looks forward to gaining insight into the loan approval process and exploring how C-PACE financing can contribute to greenhouse gas reduction. With experience in conservation education, emergency response, and entrepreneurship through his baking business “Golden Bites,” Sebastian brings a multidisciplinary perspective to the internship. In his spare time, he enjoys pickup soccer, beach outings, and cooking and baking.

Something most people don’t know:
Sebastian has run a local baking business since high school and is an avid fan of Greek mythology—he jokingly considers himself a son of Poseidon.
