As a USDA-licensed lender, X-Caliber Rural Capital (XRC) offers financing options through The Timber Production Expansion Guaranteed Loan Program (TPEP), an initiative by the USDA Rural Development and Forest Service. TPEP aims to support wood processing facilities, improve forest health, reduce wildfire risks, and create jobs in rural, forest-dependent communities.

  • Loan ranges $1MM to $25MM
  • Maximum loan term of 25 to 30 years based on use and effective life

QUALIFIED APPLICANTS

Borrowers seeking to establish, reopen, retrofit, expand, or improve wood processing facilities, sawmills, and paper mills in close proximity to a unit of United States Forest Service (USFS) National Forest System lands. For purposes of this program, an eligible borrower entity may include a forest worker, logger, heavy equipment operator, material handler, or other professional entity responsible for purchasing and processing ecosystem restoration byproducts.

ELIGIBLE AREAS

Project site located within 250 miles of the designated Very High or High Priority Forest Land Areas from which the project will draw by-products – this covers 99% of the U.S., and project initial feedstock must include ecosystem restoration by-products from federal or Tribal Very High or High Priority Forest Land Areas.
