Anna West serves as President and comes to X-Caliber-Rural Capital with over a decade of United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) lending experience. Her extensive knowledge results from her lengthy experience within the governmental and private sectors, facilitating all the USDA’s available rural development programs. Her skillsets include originating, underwriting, construction monitoring, closing, and servicing loans and grants offered by USDA Rural Development through more than twenty-five programs. In her current role, Ms. West oversees the day-to-day operations of the company.
Ms. West previously held the title of Executive Managing Director at X-Caliber Rural Capital where she fostered loan approvals and was the driving force in X-Caliber Rural Capital’s ascension to the number one USDA OneRD lender roughly two years after the company’s founding. She developed the operational team needed to position the company for growth and new product development and laid the framework for the implementation of internal bridge loan solutions.
Ms. West’s previously served as a loan officer in the Energy and Infrastructure Lending group at Live Oak Bank. In that role, she leveraged the USDA’s unique loan programs, specifically those under the Community Facilities and Business and Industry categories, to provide competitive financing for rural businesses across America. Her efforts were influential in helping Live Oak Bank grow to become the nation’s largest USDA lender.
Prior to that, Ms. West spent eight years working at USDA as a loan specialist where she provided creative solutions resulting in the best available financing options to meet the needs of rural communities. During her time with the agency, Ms. West participated in multiple National Office detail assignments successfully helping other states utilize unused funding in the Water and Waste Disposal program. Ms. West played an integral role in helping some states obligate more than $70 million in less than a year for needed infrastructure projects. In her role, she developed new business through outreach efforts and performed the required credit analysis and reviews to ensure the project proposed for financing conformed with the loan requirements, as well as the subsequent preparation of loan approval documentation and closing.
Ms. West received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, where she credits her inspiration to help rural communities nationwide.
