Julie Witherspoon is responsible for managing all aspects of commercial loan underwriting for X-Caliber Rural Capital and its affiliates, including preparing, outsourcing, and presenting credit analyses. She brings over 15 years of experience in real estate development, investment structuring, and business management to this role.
Prior to joining X-Caliber, Ms. Witherspoon operated as an independent consultant through JLW LABS, LLC, where she managed strategy development projects for climate finance consultancy Gordian Knot Strategies, LLC and provided underwriting services to X-Caliber Rural Capital and other lending institutions.
Ms. Witherspoon has also served as the managing director of transaction operations for Forterra NW, where she oversaw financial analyses and investment projections for various real estate impact investments. In addition, she previously served as vice president of operations for a multifamily real estate development company in San Francisco called BUILD and as director of operations for a clean-label soup manufacturer called Nona Lim. Ms. Witherspoon began her career with innovative land development company Bio-Logical Capital, where she participated in sourcing, evaluating, and managing land-based investments.
Ms. Witherspoon holds a master’s degree in environmental management from the Yale School of the Environment and a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies from Washington University in St. Louis. She received a permaculture design certification from Ecoversity.
